Single Storey Extension, Troon
A 16m² single storey rear extension in Troon, built in eight weeks from the first dig to the completion certificate, and handed over on time and on cost.
About this project
Alison and David wanted more living space at the back of their home in Troon, with plenty of daylight and doors straight out to the garden. We started on site in early June 2026 with a clear plan and a fixed scope agreed before anything was ordered.
The groundworks came first. The old paving and lawn were lifted, the footprint was dug out and the foundations went in. The extension was then built as a timber frame, insulated, sheathed and roofed, with two rooflights set into the flat roof and French doors opening onto the garden.
Inside, the new room was boarded, plastered and finished as a bright living space joined onto the existing house. Outside, the walls were rendered in white for a clean finish against the garden.
Once the build was complete we carried out additional groundworks to finish the job off properly, with a new sandstone patio, a path and timber edging around a fresh lawn, so the garden was ready to use the day we left.
The whole job ran smoothly from start to finish. It was handed over in eight weeks, on time and on cost, and the completion certificate was issued. Alison and David were great to work for, and their two rabbits kept a close eye on the team throughout.
