Project Overview
Cutwood Joinery recently completed a premium garden room installation in Stonehouse, delivering a fully managed, all-trades build from the ground up. This was not a simple outbuilding, but a high-specification, multi-functional space designed to be enjoyed throughout the year. The project was conceived as both a retreat and a practical addition to the home, blending luxury, durability, and comfort in equal measure.
Groundworks and Landscaping
The build began with professionally prepared groundworks to ensure structural stability and reliable drainage. A solid concrete base was laid, providing the perfect level foundation for long-term performance. Around the perimeter, we installed seamless paving for clean access routes and integrated fresh turf with decorative stones, giving the garden a polished and low-maintenance finish.
Structure and Exterior
The main structure was formed with a custom timber frame, built with precision by our joinery team. To maximise durability and weather resistance, the frame was finished with a long-lasting rubber roof and composite cladding that delivers both style and strength. The rear garden was opened up with a four-panel sliding door system, providing full-width glazing to flood the space with natural light and create a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors.
Interior Fit-Out
Inside, the garden room was completed to the same high standard as a residential extension. Walls and ceilings were fully plastered and painted for a crisp, modern look. A complete electrical installation was carried out, including sockets, concealed wiring, and certification to current safety standards. Sleek LED strip lighting was added to provide energy-efficient ambient light. Finally, a fitted WC was installed, making the garden room fully self-contained and ideal for year-round use.
